Dean for Professional Development at Wabash College.
Alan P. Hill joined Wabash College as dean for professional development in July, 2015. As a member of the President’s senior staff, his responsibilities focus primarily on the overall personal growth and development of all Wabash students through the offerings of the professional development program. Dean Hill’s management responsibilities include the Schroeder Center for Career Development, Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies (MXIBS), and the Center for Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship (CIBE).
Prior to his appointment as dean at Wabash College, he served as vice president for enrollment and student affairs, as well as, vice president for enrollment and marketing at Franklin College from July, 2000 to June, 2015. In addition, Alan served as vice president of enrollment and student affairs at Alma College from 1998 to 2000 and dean of student affairs, assistant to the provost, director of financial aid, and assistant director of admissions at DePauw University from June, 1987 to September, 1998.
Dean Hill holds a bachelor’s and master of art in teaching (MAT) from DePauw University. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, he has served on several secondary school boards, served as keynote speaker for multiple events, and taken advantage of many volunteer opportunities to serve others.
Dean Hill resides in Indianapolis and is married to his wife Jennett. They have two adult children, Courtney and Preston.
