John Applegate is Indiana University's Executive Vice President for University Academic Affairs
John's extensive portfolio includes responsibility for university academic initiatives, the IU regional campuses, academic relations with state government, and the IU Office of Online Education. In addition, his office also executes the university’s public safety mission through the IU Police Department, the Offices of Emergency Management and Environmental Health and Safety, and several related offices. Executive Vice President Applegate’s office also administers university policies, student systems and services, and, most recently, oversaw the development of the Indiana University Bicentennial Strategic Plan. An expert in environmental and administrative law, Executive Vice President Applegate is the Walter W. Foskett Professor of Law at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
